Weldon's version of this mele is about the best one I have ever heard! Whenever we go Kani Ka Pila Grille on Tuesdays, he usually will do this song and the whole crowd of tourists who know nothing about Hawaiian music sit there stunned by the magnificence of his performance. Then they clap like crazy. He just may be turning a whole new audience on to Hawaiian music by singing this mele, as well as keeping the history alive. Mahalo for sharing.
