Removing an abandoned radio tower from service. Two cuts with a reciprocating saw and it laid down like we had hoped it would! Nobody hurt, all material removed from site, disposed of at a local scrap/recycling center and everyone back home the same day. Mark this one in the "Win" column!!!

Neat video but I hate seeing the antennas on it go to waste like that. A lot of hams would have loved to have had some of those VHF antennas.

While I understand the element of danger of climbing an old tower to dismantle a tower of unknown condition, and no mechanical assembly is worth a human life, it does bring a tear to my eye.

Not to cut your video by any means, and is neat to see what a 110 footer looks like. It appears to be a ROHN 25G. It's not the only one I have seen removed in that manner. The thing that kinda bites is I am currently shopping around for a nice 100-110 footer and they price around 8 grand with instillation. I would had been happy to had paid $2500 for your careful removal to gently take it down. Then paid someone else to put it up at my location where it would live on and have a happy life.

@aceattack52 We took it down because the tower owner no longer had any customers using it and it was a potential safety hazard.
