CSX Freights Stop Side by Side with MARC Surprise

CSX Q405 was stopped on track one in Riverdale Park when I arrived at the MARC station. A few minutes later I heard a horn and assumed it to be an east bound on track two. Nothing happened until I looked back towards the 405 and I see another headlight coming along side. This was Q439. A few minutes later Q405 drops the head light and Q439 starts ringing the bells and gets under way with CSX ES40DC #5292 leading the way and CW44AC #424 trailing. This was a rather long train and the stop near the end was to clear the signal at the wye in Hyattsville. After Q439 clears Q405 lights up and get moving. Leading is CSX ES40DC #5346 with CW44AC #75 trailing. Interesting that the power teams are identical on these two trains. Before the Q405 had cleared another horn sounds and MARC P847 comes into view on the same track. The MARC train had been stuck behind Q405 while CSX let the Q439 move through first. After picking up passengers and waiting for the 405 to clear the interlock at Hyattsville P847 moves on toward Union Station as I get back on my way to work!

Great Video! I've seen rock trains stop and block the crossing here for over 20 minutes as they wait to 'back down' to Bladensburg, its nice these trains stopped north of the crossing under the 410 bridge to keep it clear
