He's a man credited with the founding of the new world. It's been 518 years since Explorer Christopher Columbus discovered the Americas. The historic moment is honored every year in the U.S. with a federally recognized Holiday. Columbus day, which is the second Monday of every October, usually means no work or school for Americans. However, Indigenous and Native groups insist the history of how Columbus conquered the Americas is not acknowledged and contains a dark reality. It's what has led to a national movement to renounce Columbus Day.

  • @85elcamino714 umm no

  • @americanliberal09 not a big deal!!! you must be white huh

  • Fuck Columbus.

  • @JimmyeDallas john cabot, the vikings and the chinse might came here before columbus but they didn't make any impact. columbus day is just a holiday anyway so none of my friends celebrate because we already know what he did for this country. it's not a big deal

  • @JimmyeDallas that doesn't convinced me

  • The only reason America celebrates Christopher Columbus is because the British Empire celebrated John Cabot for re-discovering Newfoundland. It is entirely political and has nothing to do with the actual history of European discovery and colonization of the Americas.

  • Leif Eriksson continues to roll in his grave.

  • How bout FUK COLUMBUS DAY and THANKSGIVING DAY!!!! People that agree with celebrating columbus day have been brain washed by the farry tales someone twisted up to make columbus sound like he was a good person

  • these people stupid for protesting against Columbus day if you don't love it then don't bitch about it and move on. the American government is not going to apologize anyway so i don't see what's the big deal about this because it's not going to make Americans feel sorry about the indians

  • @killzone321 they didnt eat humans as a diet, it was a culture and religion. Did you know before Europeans start coming to North/South America, roaches, mice, many horrible diseases didnt exist here? Do you know how many people die from diseases spreading through pests?
