This is a series of gameplay vids I'm doing highlighting overlooked games for the various consoles I own. This is played on a PS2 with Texture smoothing, and fast loading on.

MDK comes from the wonderful people at Shiny Entertainment (of Earthworm Jim fame), and is a fun action game with it's own unique atmosphere.

As you can see, the game was a showpiece for PS1 graphical effects. The first room in this vid is one of my favorite places in the game.

MDK comes down to being a simple shoot everything shooter. There are other areas in the game that require more than that which give it variety, and it does have a cool sniper helmet which adds a little strategy to the game as well. The game is also full of cool support items that rane from your standard grenades, to a decoy that you throw, and the enemies automatically attack only it, and there's even my personal favorite, "The world's most interesting bomb" which you throw, and your enemies will stop everything they're doing to watch this little cube slowly open up, and blow them to pieces. The game is humorous as well as action packed.

The music is another spotlight of the game, and is composed by none other than Tommy Tallarico himself.

Some gamers will just see this as a repetitive shooter, but action gamers will dig this game. Also, the controls aren't perfect, and the platform jumping takes a bit of practice to get the hang of.

MDK is also available on the PC, and Mac which would be the superior versions to get, but considering that this game hit in 1997, I can't tell you what if any compatibility issues you may have trying to run it on a modern computer with a modern graphics card.

It could still work just fine like some games from that era do still. I don't know.

  • impressive soundtrack

  • Would you expect anything less from Tommy Tallarico?

  • if u have not done it u should do tiny tank that game was awesome and was highly overlooked

  • I haven't done it yet, but I'll probably add it sometime in the future.

I've had the game for a few years, but I haven't really put enough time into it as of yet.

  • What In The Hell Is THis Game

I Dont Mean Tobe Mean I Just Want To Know

  • It's a third person action game with some really trippy, and imaginative level designs.

It's made by Shiny of Earth Worm Jim fame, and has a unique atmosphere to it. It's even got a hidden room where you can hit EWJ heads and drop cows on the enemies.

  • This game blew my mind, well, when I got the hang of it.

  • I don't own the PS1 version but i do own the PC version of this game, and this game is so underrated gem one of the best 3rd person action game.

  • i still had this game until just recently >.< i was so sad when i couldnt find it.... best game of all time if you ask me

  • I still have this game on the PC and I find it's a lot easier than in PS1 where I first played it. With the fps controls,Caps Lock (trigger sprinting/run) and the auto-aim, I find it fun playing around with the enemies with rarely getting seriously hurt.

  • How is this underrated? This is like a known PS1 games back in the days, well here in the PH. I was still a kid when I first played this in my cousin's PS1, and I can even remember how those freakin robot thingys once scared the hell of out me. Among my blurry childhood memories, this is the game I most remembered and enjoyed.

  • mindfuck

  • I remember that, but on PC

  • MDK is a modern classic and I was the only one to enjoy it as well when my dad had it installed on the computer all those years ago. He intended it for himself but I really got into it.

  • I have this game a while ago(i had it from 2005)and to tell you the truth,it's a really kick ass game with some great music by tommy tallarico.

Btw,buy quake 2 on ps1 people, its a nice port of the pc version.

  • i had this for pc but still really enjoyed sniping in this game
