what the germans did to russians was not reciprocated.Russia had every right to destroy germany completely but refrained.They were the best human being considering what they went thru at the hands of Nazis.Rape is horrible but nothing comparing to exterminating 25 million Russians & if the soviets didn't win there would hardly be any Russian left today & the rest of us would be slaves to the 3rd Reich if we were lucky to live at all.The world owe so much to RUSSIA.

It's rather odd that some weepy hun ballad should become popular with US and British people as well. I agree that the Russians were little more than barbaric peasants at that time...but who brought them down on the German people? "Der Fuhrer" and the German high command. The atrocities perpetrated upon the Russian people were equally heinous.
