Nice lookin' Dart! Sounds pretty good too. I have a '72 Swinger with the 225 Slant 6. They are pretty much bullet proof motors. Nothing to worry about with the black water. It's a combination of condensation in the exhaust and carbon build up. It just needs to be driven on a nice long trip (50 miles or more) to burn off the condensation and then as others have said wind it up real tight a time or two to blow the carbon out and you'll be good to go! Take care of the sweet classic Mopar!

Plane on keeping the six? I gotta 74 Duster with a 225 Slant Six bored .030 over, milled .100, port n polish, aluminum intake, dual headers, hi-vol oil pump, 1.7 intake and 1.4 exhaust valves, hypereutectic pistons, hi dur cam, HEI Dist, and HO Coil, pushing about 290HP and 370TQ. Does the 1/4 mile in about 13.2 with a shitty 3-spd a230 and a 7 1/4 3.23 rear end.

take it out & blow the soot out of it!
