"The Right to Love: An American Family" - COMING SOON 2012
Documentary Film (88 minutes)
http://www.jayebirdproductions.com/

Synopsis:

While the passionate debate over the legitimacy of Marriage Equality in the United States rages on, the LGBT community continues to fight for their slice of the American dream. Powered by media, religion and influential anti-gay organizations, the civil right of marriage continues to be held just out of reach for many LGBT citizens.

"The Right To Love: An American Family" chronicles one story of courage born out of the highly mediatized and controversial Prop 8 2008 election results in California. A private Californian married gay couple and their two adopted children fight back against discrimination, ignorance and hate through home videos posted on their YouTube channel, 'Gay Family Values'. As they pursue their American Dream, the opposing political, social and religious opinions that pervade society attempts to strip it from them.

  • Hi Jay, I live in England and my partner and I would really like to see your movie. Will we be able to get hold of DVDs or download it online eventually? Sarah x

  • @sairy6 we are trying to get a showing in England this summer...The DVD wont be out till later this year

  • I want to see this movie so bad. Will it play on the east coast? Will it be on PBS since it's a documentary? On TV? Movie theaters? I want to spread the word and tell friends, family and aquaintances where they can see it. Thanks !

  • @wiannoboy yes it will play on the east coast some time this year...I would love for PBS to pick it up

  • "It is not discrimination to treat different things differently"

    Men and women are different.

People of different ethnicities are different.

Everybody is different from everybody else.

Does that mean I should discriminate against everybody who isn't me? No, it doesn't.

She forgets one thing, and that is what we all have in common, we're all human.

  • @aaarenification I agree I think LOVE is the most important thing a human can find in this world...and treating any ones love as less then is a crime.

  • San Francisco Bay area screening March 1 & 3 @ r2lmovie (dot) com/#!/page_Screenings

  • It really hurts me when I see polls on Gay marriage. I feel ashamed when there is a significant proportion of voters who vote 'no'. They are obviously not gay and are directly interfering with matters that do not affect them per se. I am not gay but I only mention this fact to let you know that you have my support in your struggle. I look forward to watching this film.

  • Perfeito! Brasil esta com vcs nessa luta!

  • @logofreetv Just wanted to point out how ironic your name is seeing that if you type in logotv . com then you get a website that has lesbian and gay movies and tv shows haha lol loved it plus wanted to tell you that this isn't the place to hate if you don't like it then don't watch it its really rude and does'nt cocern you.

  • "A Californian married gay couple and their two adopted children fight back against discrimination, ignorance and hate" So anyone who doesn't think marriage should be between people of the same sex is automatically full of 'hate' & is 'ignorant?' That's interesting because the people I've found that despise gays the most are black males & Feminists. Oh liberalism.. you're like the dumpster of society & you're going to teach us all about it. Feminists killed marriage anyway- it's all yours.

  • its importend!

  • I also want to see this documentary but I don't know how.
