FLINT was the remnants of the American Band GRAND FUNK RAILROAD. After their Break Up, Lead singer-songwriter and guitarist, MARK FARNER embarked on a solo career and the remaining members, DON BREWER, MEL SCHACHER and CRAIG FROST temed up with a couple of other Michigan Rockers, MARK CHATFIELD and RON TROMBLY to create the short lived band FLINT. Though the songs were strong and well conceived , the album sold poorly and after one short tour and recording a second album that was never released, the band broke up, not to be heard of again.
This first song from the album, a Motown Based , Holland-Dozier-Holland composition , best known by The Supremes, showed the bands soulful interpretation of the song with Grand Funk's Hard Rock and Rhythymic style.
DON BREWER known as the singer and songwriter of Grand Funk's Mega Hit, "We're An American Band" sings this song and is in fact the Lead singer on all of the FLINT Material.
I am sharing this because it is music that should be heard and hasn't been.
I do not claim ownership or any connection with this song other than for enjoyment and listening pleasure.
The album and copyright is held by the songwriter's and Sony Music.

  • I have this very album. bought it at the music store, new for $2. This is great if i could upload it i would. Guest appearences by Todd Rundgren and Frank Zappa.. Good as any Grand Funk Album.

  • @rmggould , Yes,. I think it's a pretty Great album. I had been looking for it for years and finally found a copy online in CD form. I scanned the inserts and just uploaded it as a video. At first i thought they were going to make me pull it down as a copyright issue, but I had given the kudos to Sony Music and all that so i guess they let it go. I just felt it was good music that should be heard. I never said it was mine. Glad you enjoyed it..

  • @MrBonghit1 rockemstockem wrote he found it on cd.

  • I saw Flint open for Triumph in 1978. The Godz were in the show also. First full Triumph tour of the States and their laser show was considered spectacular for the time. Flint was good. One album and done though.

  • @rmggould thanks for the song.Been a Chatfield fan since the Rosie days in Columbus in the early 80s! Anyway to get a copy of the whole album???

  • This was damn good music it is a shame..they rocked!
