@TheMarineKid17 You remind me of a t-shirt firefighter who probably has no knowledge beyond what some volunteer chief has told you. Forgetting a seal check does not mean you will die in a fire... it means your likely-hood of a problem arising might increase slightly by not checking. You get fit tested for a reason.. and gear is checked and maintained for a reason. Pretty sure many FFs skip a seal check.. even the pros. Haven't heard of a FF death lately due to "seal check forgotten".

@TheMarineKid17 You certainly sound like a professional to me.... So you started last year and are 16 is what im gonna guess. If you were professional IAFF, you would not be a volunteer since you cannot be. Exactly what academy did you graduate from? They definitely taught you how to behave professionally and represent your brotherhood well. You sure you aren't still wearing your plastic red fire helmet, getting your fire education via youtube and google?

Doing a seal test is just good practice, make sure you have straps tight enough, if not you have to restart. Also balaclava was up over the mask you now just cut your visibility in half. Other then that Nice.

@ParaDiceYall Don't mistake arguing for educating. I agree that any firefighters on this video should represent themselves well by not resorting to profane talk and insults for no reason. But ignoring ignorance can ultimately cost lives, as well. There is nothing wrong with debate and educating those who are ignorant so that they can re-evaluate themselves and maybe go back and "relearn" what they think they already know.

@TheMarineKid17 is what we call a 6-22. 6 months experience with a 22 yr experience attitude...

Anyone on this video who is a firefighter and is arguing with someone else should be ashamed. Ignore peoples ignorance and represent yourself how you should.
Good job, man. Good driil. As for all of you flaming about how he skipped the seal check, etc, etc, there, in my opinion, is nothing wrong with skipping the seal check. Hell, in my FF-I and FF-II class, our training officer didnt even make us check our seals after we were fit tested. There is a time and a place for Sunday Morning Qaurterbacks, and this is not it.

@nsrailfann4life91 I seal check just for my own reassurance. Never know if someone screwed with it or dropped it or broke it somewhere and didn't tag it out of service. Some places are less disciplined than others with equipment upkeep and this can be an issue. Glad you enjoyed the video. There is another one with a 20 second time achieved as well and probably done better with less issues, which could be why nobody comments on that one :) .

not complete... pack was already turned on....depending on the pack..youd prob need bout 10 sec for the pack to be activated completely...

@ussrpycckuu Please tell me what kind of pack needs 10 seconds to activate completely and what you mean by that. The pack was not already turned on. If you listened, you would have noticed that the low air alarm sounds when he opens the valve meaning that it was not open before he started. If it had been turned on already there would have been air in the line and no low air alarm would have sounded. These packs do not have a integrated PASS device if that is what you are saying.

im a firefighter inst for our academy and he failed one he did not check his air pressure automatic fail NEVER ASSUME THE PACK IF FULL the hood can not cover the face mask it has to just cover the rubber seal around the mask showing NO skin this reason is because when you sweat your hood will sag and cover ALL your face mask and that is not good other then that he did great and yes im a VOL and was DOD so i don't take sides good video

@firefighteremt911 Considering we ran this drill over a hundred times with the same pack, we knew what the pressure was. You will also notice that after the pack is on he checks the shoulder gauge on his right and states "tank half full". I have never heard of or experienced a hood sagging from sweat if its on your visor. If your helmet is on tight & proper, your mask should be held in place and not move. He has limited visibility, yes, But that is not a fail.
