If you were to bump into a presidential candidate in the hallway, what would you do? If you thought they might take the time to answer one question, what would you ask?
I'm not a real reporter. I'm just a blogger with a bus ticket and a day job, but today I got my Peggy Agar moment. When I saw Cynthia McKinney in the hallway of the Palmer House after the Green Party 2008 Chicago nominating convention, I asked if I could take her picture. Then, wondering a zillion things about what drives someone to be a third party candidate, I asked her the question, "What do you hope to accomplish by running for president?" You can see for yourself the professionalism and courtesy she shows in considering the question.
Now I'm not saying I'd vote for someone on the basis of a question in a hallway, but she does have some good points to make--and if it's not too superficial to say so--a great campaign smile.
