Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki is meeting President Dmitry Medvedev in Moscow. This means Russian contracts that were suspended after the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq could soon be restored.

Iraq should sell their oil to Russia so they could get a lot of money! USA don't buy a lot of oil from Iraq. Most of USA oil come from Saudi Arabia! Saudia Arabia is the most richest oil country! Iraq should start buying Mi-17, Mi-24, & Mi-28! USA, Hungary, Poland, Jordan, UK, & Ukraine already start supplying Iraq with Tanks, APC, IFV, & military aircraft today & in the future!

Mi-17 is old multifunctional helicopter, as well. but it's very reliable and americans are to upgrade those MI-17s with new electronics, etc. that's why iraqis have chosen and americans agreed to buy the machines.

he started as one but definitely changed. i think he got confidence, he's supported by majority of iraqi parliament, and, respectively, he builds rather iraqi agenda now. tightening relations between Iraq and Russia would be quite logic after all the cooperation in the past. helicopter deal is paid by americans. still it's a good deal for US. for just 80 mln more than 20 helicopters will be bought from russians and upgraded by americans. all for just 80 mln.
