People's Postcode Lottery winner AB23 8ZD - Potterton - 21 May 2009

This week, Angus trip up the east coast to sunny Potterton was made all the more worthwhile with five great winners, sharing the weekly £25,000 Street Prize. All of the winners were so delighted to be part of the celebrations that they held an impromptu gathering in the street to toast their success!

First up was Diane Marr, who was at home with her son Ben. Opening the door, Diane gratefully received the bunch of flowers that Angus had for her. This is the first bunch of flowers Ive had in ages! said a grinning Diane. But that wasnt all that she was getting Angus soon presented her with a cheque for £3,125.

This is just wonderful, said Diane. Im sure Ill find something to spend it on. My other son is playing in the final of a football tournament tonight so perhaps this will be going on the celebrations!

Leaving a happy Diane, Angus was on the move again to close-by neighbours, mother and daughter Elaine Thomson and Kay Warrender.

The surprise was clear on Kays face when she opened the door to Angus, but the shock was doubled when he revealed he had a gold envelope not only for her, but for her mum too. Sorry for not inviting you in straight away, said Kay, but this is all such a surprise!

The surprises didnt end there, though Angus presented both players with cheques for £6,250 their reward for playing with two tickets!

Oh my god! Thank you so, so much! You have no idea how much this means. Ill be able to pay off the finance on my car now, said Elaine who had just finished a night shift but was wide awake with excitement.

Daughter Kay agreed with her sentiment, saying: Thank you so much, wow! Im not sure what this will be spent on yet my other half is on night shift and asleep so Ill see what he says when he wakes up. Im pretty sure some of it will be spent on a girly night with my mates.

The winning didnt end there, Angus carried on his travels around Kirkhill Gardens, stopping by at Elizabeth Browns house. He was soon invited in by Elizabeth and her husband John and, spying the gold envelope, John said: Some cash would be magic!

Angus didnt disappoint on this front, handing Elizabeth a cheque for £6,250. Gee whiz! said Elizabeth, I dont know what to spend it on Ive never won money like this in my life!

John added: Were off on holiday to Portugal with the family in October, so this will be useful for that. I can hardly speak Im so surprised thank you!

With that, Angus cheque deliveries were complete but he stayed around to be part of the celebrations taking part in the street, toasting the lucky players success with a glass of champagne. Remember youre not only the only ones winning, he told them. Peoples Postcode Lottery players have raised over £2.2 million for charities so far heres to raising a lot more!
