its all good man, its your sav. feed it what you wanna fed it. mine is around 8 or 9 inches and i feed him 2 pinkies and like 3 dozen crickets lol. i kinda do it that way because when he is full he will lay down then i will collect the rest of the crickets in the cage and put tehm back in thier container till hte next day. i would just leave the crickets in there with him but they like to chew on sleeping animals lol. and i dont want them chewing on my sav.
I just dont think that rule is correct with monitors seeing the way they swallow there food. They tend to swallow it length wise like a snake allowing it to devour much bigger prey. Its like a cardinal reptile feeding rule, I just dont know how well it carry's over with monitors. I know a guy that feeds his baby sav 5 pinky's a day and its like 8'. Thats a little ridiculous. I will only give mine a pinkys when it refuses to eat any of the other millions of thins I offer.
ok, well im sure it will eat them. they eat practically anything offered to them. but juse because it eats them doesnt mean your supposed to feed tehm to him. but its all good. you can risk it. its not my problem. im just stating facts here. chief
Your actually wrong, just cause thats most of the time true with other species of reptiles and lizards doesn't mean it is with monitors. I have a Savannah this small and it will not eat anything but pinky's.
