This was the first episode in a four-part installment, online documentary, that we hoped would someday find the light of day. It's a moving piece of real-world vision. You will be moved by it's wit, and decency of character.

This first webumentary (as we were so jokingly calling it then) was about the members of a successful live band in Austin, TX, called Plow Monday. These guys were amazing musicians. They were kind. They had been together at that time, almost 8 or 9 years. They had recently gotten together with my producer, Danny Durrett, for management. They were really tearing up the live circuit in Austin. None of this playing-just-for-booze-crap. (Tho' it helped.) They were in it to get signed. A few more years from here, these guys were playing honest-to-god GBGB's in New York City, over the most amazing Halloween Weekend of my life. Imagine, for the first time in your life, a double-time videography project that actually paid for me to go to New York City, with my producer buddy Dan, and our other photographer (and producer in his own right) CJ Schumacher of 10th letter Productions. This was all several years ago, now.

I knew them and was assigned to be the documentarian. The videographer; the guy with the camera. I was on video Safari with these guys, and the more secret the shot, the more honest the picture was. It's HARD to forget the camera. Luckily, Dan, Dane and I (The original backbone of Dr. Doctor Productions) had been spending a lifetime building up an immunity to camera-shy. We logged in over 100 hours of actual shooting time on this project, though many, many more were spent in between times where the actual camera would run. Of course, they didn't always know that at the time. Maybe it's a dirty trick, but the camera would often stay pointed at someone when it was out of juice. Out of tape. I never told them what I was doing with the camera. It was just there.

I ask any of you out there, please ...More episodes can be at the ready for a serious Executive Producer, pending editing costs and the offer of high-bandwidth internet distribution. I love YouTube, but it destroys more than I can afford for serious storytelling. Someone, please help me tell this story right.

If you or someone you know wants to see more episodes after this four, please contact myself or Dr. Doctor Productions at filmditz@gmail.com. I feel the time is right for this story to be told. One that I'm sure will teach you more about the entertainment industry than any TV show!

Part 2 coming up!
