This Maya Angelou written film was a head of its time in 1972, in terms of interracial and gay love. Diana Sands was one of the greatest actresses and Minnie Gentry is a force of nature as the mother/assistant. Dirk Benedict made a screen debut that he could be proud of. A truely beautiful man.
