Cyd Charisse & Dee Turnell return to their ballet roots and perform a fun number. Both are in dark red costumes. Dee Turnell is the blonde. Cyd Charisse is the brunette.
I started to dance ballet at 30 and to tell the truth I had seen more hollywood dance thatn anything.! At 50 my teachers are still tryig to get the show girl our of the corps girl they want me to be! I love them for trying but it's a lots cause!
What a fun piece of choreography.... a chorus line and en pointe? who would think of that! I love it. Fred Astaire said about Cyd Charisse that when she danced with you you stayed danced with! She could walk across the room in slacks and a top and I would think it was art! Thanks for posting!
It's always fun to watch the early time capsules of the future stars. This was Ms. Charisse in her 'dance specialty' days, while the studio continued to groom her for bigger things, without not knowing exactly how to use her. Later in the same film she would have one line of dialogue and then be given a gorgeous dance solo in white opposite Perry Como singing "Blue Room." Great clip!!
ooh,,lalala,,,just love this.. a gr8 scenic pic and dance of yesteryears......Cyd Charisse is truly a marvellous dancer.....
