"Eurythmy: Making Movement Human," the DVD from which this is excerpted may be purchased at www.millennialchild.com. Eurythmy, a new art of movement developed by Rudolf Steiner, is a valuable educational tool. Today's children need to MOVE, and eurythmy guides their movement to both great works of music and poetry. In this excerpt from a longer DVD, Sam Russell's camerawork captures the beauty and joy of eurythmy classes in three Waldorf schools: Green Meadow Waldorf School, the Waldorf School of Princeton, and Kimberton Waldorf School. We see Maria ver Eecke teaching first and fifth graders (with commentary by Wendy Kelly), Tertia Gale teaching eighth graders, and Raymonde Fried teaching eleventh graders.

  • I'm from israel, and I have been learning at a Waldorf school for 5 years now, and I am extremely satisfied with it, but I must say... that I HATE Euruthmy!

  • @nineteensixty9 this is direct evidence that Eurythmy uses valuable time that should be used on spelling

  • So... what's the difference between this and dance class?

  • Haha, this is such a waste of time. I swear the Steiner education scarred me for life.

  • I have a friend who went to a Waldorf school. She has been very sheltered and the other day I had to explain to her what Disneyworld was. And yes, I know that not all parents of Waldorf students shelter their kids like that, but Waldorf encourages them to not expose their children to pop culture. Also, there are a lot of people who have been shunned by the entire faculty and all of the families just because they did something "wrong" or "different." Isn't that what they are supposed to encourag

  • SOUTH DEVON STEINER FOREVER <3

  • Waldorf school of Princeton, that's my school.

  • @thenorup especially for this school.. half the children in my grade couldn't read/spell even close to grade level.

  • i went to a waldorf school and i HATED eurythmy. It seemed too hippyied out. We got into Tai Chi later which seemed to make more sense. But looking back on it I see how the concept of moving together and grace is a helpful skill to have. It seems more sub textual than literal

  • @whitedogblues09 lol yeah it isn't exactly everyone's favorite subject, especially when they make you do it through high school, which they didn't at my school... I mean, did you see the looks on those kids faces in that video? =P
