@celloswiss Cause it matters whether people knew that they were going to be killed, what kind of question is that? Apart from that: merely being German didn't give you a lot of privileged information, people in other countries with a free press knew as much or more about the things which were going on. E.g. protesting against the Swiss policy of returning Jewish refugees to Germany would have been without risk to life or liberty for a Swiss citizen. But many preferred to look the other way.

Your description of the German people with respect to the expulsion of the Jews is about as cogent as someone accusing All americans of witnessing and ignoring the lynching of blacks in the earlier part of the 20th century. You thoughlessly swallow all of the BS abour how evil others are and forget that in Vietnam you killed most of the 3.1 million who died in their war to keep themselves independent of the French and America
