I couldn't agree more.:)

I'm sure they would rather be in their natural environment as opposed to this. I just hope that there will be some wild places left for them in the future.

We saw an orangutan at Brownsville,TX zoo last week, it came up to the glass, put his hand right near the window. We were staring at his hand, then he blew loud raspberries through a little hole that runs from viewing booth to his area. Got so scared & moved away quick:) I hadn't noticed the hole in the cement floor. My husband bent down & said, "You can see his eye." I stood way back & bent down. I saw his little eye looking at me. Really weird and astonishing. I didn't know they were so smart.

lol! They are awesome animals. These will come and "talk" to you through the glass below. But, the female & her baby will only interact with women and children. If a man walks up to them, they'll leave.lol Yeah..they are smart!lol

So sad to see them reduced to those platforms, the male looked particularly depressed. We humans are stealing their homes daily for palm oil. Don't buy anything with palm oil - check labels of cosmetics, food etc.... for example Kentucky Fried use it.

I agree, I'd much rather see them in their natural environment. But at least here, they are safe from the poachers who kill them and steal their babies to sell to the pet trade, that's really sad.:(
