Emma Lazarus, who wrote "The New Colossus" was a Zionist Jew whose first allegiance was to the Jewish people. It was the Jews she had in mind when she wrote her poem.

My, that's awfully rubato...but otherwise, an exquisitely heartfelt performance.

Love it! I went to Broadway UMC while I was working on a job in Indy. The church and the choir reminded me of my home church, University UMC in Austin, Texas. Good job, Broadway! Thanks for sharing.

FYI: Irving Berlin only wrote the music -- NOT the lyrics. The lyrics are an excerpt from a poem called "The New Colossus" by American poet Emma Lazarus, which she wrote in 1883.

why didn't they do the whole piece? It lasts about 2 and a half mins. The choir I am in sings this every other year for Thanksgiving concert

Background typing noise spoils the solemnity of this beautiful performance.
Yes. That is disappointing. It wasn't typing... I was a kid about 10 yrs. old that pulled some drumsticks out of his pocket and began "accompanying" the performance. I ran him off. Still, I thought it was worth sharing.
