The Switchblade is a heavy/modern rock distortion pedal featuring three stages of distortion with carefully designed filtering before, between and after each stage to sculpt the sound and control the way each stage adds to the distortion. The bottom end of the spectrum is full and weighty with enough definition for every note of a chord to play its part. The top end cuts through without ever becoming fizzy and the midrange is slightly scooped to give a great tone for rhythm playing.

  • I've got one but actually I don't think this video expose the deep nature of the switchblade. Great pedal, but I wouldn't have bought it with this video. It's much better in reality than this video.

  • @Loustig There's probably only so much that can be squeezed into a short vid, nothing will ever beat getting you hands on one in the flesh so you're right there :)

  • I was skeptical when I ordered this pedal. I had already tried the heralded Wampler Pinnacle and Suhr Riot, and a host of others well in the past. Never liked them. But this pedal I love. Very unlike any other distortion pedal. And I only paid $130 as it was on sale. Try it!

  • Are you going to demo the Hellbender soon?

  • Great video - I have been struggling to decide between this and the Hellbender - then they brought out the Tornado - I keep coming back to this pedal though - just love that scooped sound - good job.

  • I use this pedal with a Mesa Boogie Lonestar 1x12.. This pedal is just like another amp channel, amazing clarity, huge volume boost too.. it's a great pedal for just a slighty dirty volume boost.. amazing, can't reccomend it enough..!!

  • Great pedals, I own a Hellbender. But the knobs are so cheap and ugly. I changed mine asap

  • Sick pedal. I've never heard a pedal with such a tight low end, and it's pretty much silent to run. Sounds more like an amp channel than a little box. (Comments based on playing with one, not the demo).
