A fun amateur film made by Don Glut in 1967. Don used an MPC Fireball XL5 toy for the spaceship. He cut the middle part out & customised it a little. You can see more of the ship towards the end of the movie.
Check out his website & buy his DVD which has all his amateur films on it. It's ace...

Yeah, I doubt anybody will remember "Firefly" and "Battlestar galactica " decades from now.

great stuff. the effects are not that cheesey compared to the effects done in the actual serials. As they were running in the cave I wondered if they would be hit by the Batmobile, or run into the robot monster, or the blood beast, or....
Good job.

The Martian princess has a fine set on her, but needs acting and elocution lessons.

Cool, I like how Don Glut used everything he had lying around to make a pretty decent film.

As a Republic Serial fan I loved the homage to their Rocketmen Characters as well as the in-gag of naming the Rail Yard after the Lydecker Brothers (who did the special effects including the Flying Sequences) for Republic. I also loved the use of the Flying Dutchman Overture (which was the theme music used for the Flash Gordan Serials).
