@cullyvan I had an Uncle Jack, but he could get on and off a horse without any help. He was obviously fitter than your uncle Jack was. Whats this got to do with Theremins anyway ? By the way, can you play anything (apart from the pink oboe) ?

Yes, back then, the world actually WAS silent. So he invented the theremin as a physical exercise machine. He was very surprised when in 1928, sound was invented and he noticed that his machine actually made these new "sounds".

What a visionary. Leonard Nimoy managed to invent a musical instrument which you did not have to touch BEFORE SOUND WAS EVEN INVENTED.
He got the inspiration from conducting the traffic.
