Everyone is entitled to their day in court. But ridiculously large verdicts accomplish nothing except enrich trial lawyers who repeatedly manipulate a flawed system to their own advantage. These companies simply pass on these insane lawsuit costs to the consumer. In the end everyone pays the costs of these awards. Trial lawyers justify there reputation as corrupt and sleezy on a daily basis. The overwhelming majority of Americans know this and the rest of the world just laughs at it,

Lawsuit abuse is so misleading b/c there are so many places where I should have sued but I didn't most people don't sue they just roll over claiming it isn't worth the trouble. We have corporations that have near absolute power now they want to remove that from the people they wish to fleece. This organization is so biased I don't like abuse of the legal system but I rather see use of the courts than REVOLUTION GUNS BOMBS DEATH DEBT on debt allowing outsiders to conquer the divided CHINA.

lol give me a break. there is a reason this state is the lawsuit hellhole. b/c the companies that come into the state- BIG COAL, disregard and take advantage of the loopholes in laws in order to make more money. they don't care about the people of the state. The coal mining counties in the state are the MOST impoverished in the state, yet produce the MOST IMPORTANT export. Why? b/c coal companies have the state and federal lawmakers at their fingertips.

Amen. What has happened is a coalition of powerful insurance corps and banks has turned the issue into a scalp the citizen thing. The lawsuit abuse is when citizens cannot sue powerful corps because dumb lawmakers pass laws that hurt ordinary citizens. The energy company talking here lied to their constumers. Get the facts.
