Great tutorial! Just one quick question, how do you creat those 3D letters? I want to write things, not necessarily on a fire place but just add stuff like that, did you model them yourself? or is there some special font?

@DoreoC The 3d text begins as a 2D Shape much like a line or a rectangle or a circle. There is an option called Text that you can use to write anything with fonts already installed on your system. Then it's a question of adding a modifier on top such as Extrude or Bevel to give the text depth.

Well sometimes it's not good to use Boolean because it may mess up your polygons/create additional vertexes etc...

@NoiseFr3ak Yes, absolutely; which is why Booleans are better suited for architectural modeling, where objects tend to be more static and seldom need to deform.
Booleans are definitely NOT recommended for objects meant to be deformed/animated.
