  • Speeding is not the no 1 cause of road crashes, as a lot of motorists seem to think Tailgating or driving too close to the vehicle in front, even below the limit causes more accidents and by far exceeds those caused by speeding. Vast majority of motorists got a speeding ticket yet I've heard of nobody getting penalised for tailgating.

  • and of course we ignore the fact most crashs occur below the speed limit at intersections

live in fear live in fear, be a snivilling coward and demand a police state

  • @elli1897 no such thing as "accidentally" exceeding the speed limit. You know the speed for the road and its your foot on the accelerator pushing it down. Only you are in control of that car, no one is forcing your foot down making you go faster. Only you make that decision. Higher penalties are whats needed. There is no excuse for speeding and 99% of "accidents" are preventable by better driving.

  • The message here appears to be, "There's no such thing as safe speeding because you will get caught". I much prefer public information films to concentrate on the dangers, not the penalties.

  • If you are speeding, you are breaking the law. The law stated in the Highway Code you should have read to take your test in which you demonstrated you were a good and safe driver. If you passed a test before its introduction, I would recommend picking one up. Chances are the laws have updated or been created since you last looked. Not only does it help keep you safe by making you think more about driving and becoming more knowledgeable to the actual law and road use it also is a good legal tool

  • lol this ad fails..

It's not 'safe' to speed because you may get a ticket.

    Otherwise all for ya..

fucking useless cops go catch real criminals and REAL bad drivers.

  • sure! As if there's ALWAYS a cop around when you need one! Plus the police tried using security cameras along Interstates like Route 66 and such but they can't just bill you a ticket they have to "present" you with the ticket at the scene of the crime.

  • Because you will get caught and fined?

I like that the "Speed Kills" nonsense at the end of the ad has a picture of a speed camera next to it. Way to hammer the actual road safety across guys! No really, good job...

  • @koolyman nah, it should be : If You think you're safe speeding, think again( click), ( David cameron comes out of nowhere and says : OH SNAP!'

  • geddit?
