Me and Dad on on an old Scottish tune. I think my whistles may have been a bit out of tune, so not quite as good as it could have sounded. Anyway, hope people enjoy this happy little song. :-)

  • Great job. Very nice sound! Looking forward to more videos like that in the future. Is that high D whistle a Dixon Polymer? Sure sounds like it.

  • Thanks. And yup, thats a Dixon Polymer alright. A grands little whistle.

As I listen to this now though I keep hearing flubs that make me cringe. :-/ Its been 2 years since I recorded this - maybe I've gotten a little better heh

  • WOW! I LOVE IT! I go to Raasay every summer to visit my grandparents, i love it there! well done guys

  • Thanks :-)

  • where can i find tab of this...or if its your own arrangement could you possibly send me tab?

  • Well...I am sorry to say I can't really help you too much. See, I don't actually know how to read music and thus don't use that sort of thing, and dad just listend to the tune and figured it out (I don't remember him ever writing it down). However, I have spent a lot of time looking for tabs for irish tunes for my friends with other instuments, and I'll tell ya, they are hard to find...

Good luck, hope you find some! :) and if you do let me know.

  • Great energy. You guys nailed it.

  • Really great version - thanks so much. An inspiration for my fledgling whistle skills and would like to try guitar version too. Would be good to know what tuning the guitar is in? DADGAD? Having spent time on Raasay nearly 20 years ago it's great to learn of that connection too. Destined to be a favourite tune for many...

  • That was awesome! I was wandering where you get your whistles?

  • this was our first tune we danced to on our wedding day, 3 years ago today. I'm sitting listening to it now looking over Broadford Bay to Raasay. Calum Macleod was a lesson to us all, great tune, thanks.

  • Great version, my daughter also plays this on her fiddle.

  • You did a wonderful job on that song. I like how you switched from the low whistle to the high one and your facial expressions are so fun to watch. You look like you really enjoy playing the music. I liked the guitar playing along with it as well.

  • @To2ndMars Dude it sounds beautiful don't be so hard on yourself. Your beautiful music makes my soul do summersaults. yeah.

  • @nasreal it's not a tab, but the session website is good for lots of folk. Maybe this is what you're looking for? thesession into google.
