-How do we know these powers will not be abused? When Icelandic recently banks collapsed Gordon Brown unjustifiably used the Anti-terrorism, Crime and Security Act of 2001 against the people of Iceland for his own short-term political gain.

-Stay vigilant and if you see an Icelandic acting suspicious report it to the authorities!

-Gordon Brown has made a frank admission that government cannot promise the safety of personal data entrusted by the public.

The fact that Jacqui Smith is still in her job is in danger of setting a new precedent that no Minister or even MP, let alone Home Secretary, will ever feel the need to resign for anything ever again. It is also much to Gordon Brown's further discredit that he has not sacked her for her steady flow of incompetence, and outrages which are now too numerous even to list out here! Maybe it's because it would be a 'pot and kettle situation' for Gordon Brown if HE were to call her incompetent !!!

There is no excuse for murder in Christianity, none, "Thou Shalt Not Kill". Any murderer claiming to be Christian is a liar as well as a murderer.

I'm not a fan of religion, but the Koran has a vengeful edge that Christianity doesn't, this doesn't mean it more legitimate. Both are based on ignorance of world.

But, you are right, in war human nature prevails. Hopefully Obama will help the Palestians and Israelis come to an agreement.

Again you're commenting on some of the people some of the time. People in completely different social circumstances. If the US had been occupied for 30 years and known nothing but bombing and violence I can assure you Christians would be just as violent as some Muslims are today.

Religions are dangerous because they attempt to replace common sense, judgement and innate morals with those of someone else. This is why politicians tolerate and encourage faiths.

The concept of hell, unbelievable and violent as it is in both religions, is not linked to violent acts.

Violence in Islam is due to certain Surahs and Hadiths (and lack of central figures to guide people); in the teachings of Christ there is no such commandment or permission to kill. It is mortal sin, no exception.
