  • @bcountry1013 I lived in Abbeville and lived through this storm

  • @donnieinsc Hi there, My name is John an avid storm chaser. I'm doing a paper on this storm, and was wondering if you would know any living eyewitness'. Thanks!

  • I lived in the Woodlawn area off SC 72 when this came through -- we didn't get hit too bad, but I remember the wind and rain even though I was nine years old at the time.. I remember the next days edition of the Index-Journal saying Tornado ALERTS were issues which I have never heard before then. Also good to hear the voice of Carroll Sexton again, he was the first person who helped me get into the radio biz.

  • I remember it too I as a little kid. Looks so familiar.

  • The ruins of our two-story house (the Horace Kidd house) are shown 3:40 to 3:55. An eyewitness to the funnel's approach said that our house bore a direct hit of the funnel. Nobody was at home at the time it struck, else some of us would probably have been seriously injured, maybe fatally.

  • Hell I was there

  • thanks again for posting this and thanks to joe cheek for filming this.wow,36 years ago! i remember it well. david horton,jr.

  • Thanks for the video. I never knew about this event, it was a couple years before my time.
