Iran test-fires advanced Sejil-2 missile - 2009/12/16

Iranian Defense Ministry announced that the upgraded version of the medium-range Sejil-2 missile was test-fired successfully on Wednesday.
The missile is capable of traveling 2,000 kilometers.
Ahmad Vahidi, the Iranian defense minister, said the major advantage of the upgraded Sejil over the previous version is that it cannot be brought down by anti-missile rockets.
The weapon is a two-stage missile powered by solid fuel which enters the atmosphere quickly and strikes the target at a high speed. These features along with the anti-radar shields make the missile hardly traceable.
High precision is another notable feature of the missile, the minister explained.
The defense minister called the mission a link in the chain of Irans defense strategy, saying the test has been in line with the Islamic Republics policy to enhance the countrys defensive capabilities.
He said the Islamic Republics missile plans are merely defense-oriented and are not a threat to the regional peace and stability.
The senior military official also highlighted the significant role of the weapon in improving the tactical flexibility of the Iranian military forces.
The missile and its launching pad have been designed and built by capable Iranian researchers and scientists.
Late September Iran test-fired the original Sejil missiles along with another similar-range weapon, the Shahab-3, and a host of shorter-range missiles as part of a military exercise.

@SRKSMM Im NOT saying American soilders are not commiting suicide, but I am positive every country has had soilders commit suicide too, just because some (very few) american soilders commit suicide, DOSE NOT MEAN, ALL SOILDERS ARE KILLING THEMSELVES! soilders all over the world kill themselves on a daily basis, why is it that when americans kill themselves, everybody thinks they all want to commit suicide?
