Ships of the United States Navy

This is just a tribute to SOME of the ships in the United States Navy. The ones shown are some of the most powerful in the world, such as the Nimitz class supercarrier, Burke Destroyer, and Seawolf SSN. Again I know these are not nearly all of the vessels within the United States Navy. If demand is high enough, I'll make another slideshow for you guys, so please, comment maturely, and tell me how you like it. The music is "Anchors Aweigh" performed by the Boston Pops. @vf74tomcat Good comment. Give facts and no name calling. The Hornet has poor range. Aircraft need to have a fuel fraction of .30 to .35. The Hornet has only a .23. The Super Hornet had to be built to address this, but also due to things you mentioned. BTW, the only Iraqi air to air kill in the first Gulf War was a Hornet that was splashed by a MiG-25. The F-14 is missed. Perhaps the USAF should buy planes for the USN? They are much better at it. But, USN pilot training is as good as it gets.

@MrRicky1776 Battleships are too slow, too heavy and would be one huge, floating target. Navies today rely on smaller, agile ships (excluding ACC's) Battleships are too clumsy.

I think it funny that the USA put all this money into defense and start pointless wars in which they murder innocent people them glorify it and build a whole bunch of very expensive weapons of mass destruction and allow MAD and boss the whole world around when they can't even look after everyone who lives in appalling conditions in their own country I understand defense is important but is it more important than the lives of your own people?? The American government has a lot to apologize for.

needs updating to show the DDG1000, USS ZUMWALT being built in BATH MAINE===The most complex ship in the navy....Electric drive, metric, 80 ft wide, huge automation ,almost every crew person gets a STATEROOM !DDG 51 Program re-starts...BIW awarded contract to build 1st one and option on the next.
