Recent polls show that only about one-third of Americans can even name the three branches of government, much less say what they do. See for yourself how the average American answers some fundamental questions about the United States government.

  • And people wonder how our government can get away with what they do...

  • Just because you do not take an interest in politics doesn't mean politics won't take an interest in you!

  • Just wanted to point out that the answer for "What are the Bill of Rights?" is technically wrong. While it does list our rights, the Bill of Rights is reserved for the first ten amendments to the Constitution

  • "Something awesome".

    Fucking god...

  • I sure hope these are the worst of the answers, picked to prove a point; but sadly, I'd bet they are pretty typical. I slept through high school and I still knew all of these.

  • Oh man this gives me such a good feeling when the coloured people know it better.

  • sad... this is just too sad.

    =(

  • congress dumb bitch

  • Love that it is the white people that are lacking the education in this video. It is a sad state when very few actually know anything about how our government works and about our rights in this country.

  • Vietnam had the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. Iraq and Afghanistan both had Congressional authorizations -- the AUMF (2001) and the AUMF (2003). Such Congressional authorizations aren't new -- they've been used since the dawn of the Republic. And they are equivalent to authorizing a state of war.

A formal declaration of war isn't necessary, and never has been, for the nation to be at war.

Clinton's intervention in Serbia was the only military action "lately" not to have had authorization.
