Miley Cyrus has developed a vocal chord nodule, caused by continual straining of the voice. If left untreated the small bundle of tissue could lead to surgery and affect Mileys voice. A source revealed to Star: Her concerned parents took her to the doctor, who diagnosed the beginning stages of a nodule.

Mileys doctor recommended that she rest her vocal chords for three weeks. So, Miley kept her recent performances short and plans to go ahead with her concert at Connecticuts Foxwoods Resort Casino on Saturday, September 27. SAWF via Junior Celebs.

  • well now.....this was an interesting video.

  • I got the same surgery last year (21.12.2011).. what's the big deal ??

  • I'm not surprised if she got one from sing from the throat.

  • I think this sounds amazing :/. Does she really have vocal nodules or is this just a video saying that miley is a bad singer?

  • @FireofSekhmet, Ohhh! I don't know if I'll ever be able to learn to belt. My teacher says I can't, because her studio isn't very good for that. The sound can't travel anywhere, at least I THINK that's why I can't... :(

  • @Kari166 Yeah, that's what I mean. From what I've seen from a lot of teens and preteens, when they belt, they're not thinking about what it does to their voice and they're usually not trained to do it, but it's the kind of singing that they hear all the time, so they emulate it without learning the proper technique. (Not ALL teens do this, of course. I know many young people who are amazing belters.)

  • @FireofSekhmet, belting, if done correctly, can be used without any strain on your voice. Vocal nodules occur because of poor techinique, not belting, but singing in general. :)

  • Maybe that wouldn't happen if she just got proper vocal training! -___- *facepalm*

  • @Miley709 a life threatening disease? ive had vocal chord nodules. not life threatening. just annoying.

  • @Keelios7 not true...though i take what i said back, her voice is above average for a pop star but not brilliant...i just based that statement before on a studio record i heard...but not all voices can be brilliant
