Nigel Ryan reports from Malaya on the eve of the Malaysia Plan and looks at how such a racially mixed country hopes to profit from the creation of a greater Malaysia.
Shots of Kuala Lumpur as commentary sets the racial context. Commentary explains the Malaysia Plan with maps of the area providing illustration. Ryan interviews Malayan Prime Minister Tuanku Abdul Rahman. Ryan asks him about the Malaysia Plan and if the threat of Communism is serious. Ryan also asks him if he intends to form a non-Communist or an anti-Communist Malaysia. The Tuanku discusses British bases in Malaya: they can be used for Commonwealth but not SEATO purposes. Also mentions the multi-racial nature of Malayan society.
