I'm with Mr.Pink on tipping

He's right about this bartenders do not deserve 20%.20% is fine for waiters that do a good job and seem to care about their job. To get 25% you would have to be an outstanding waiter like the best I've ever had.

@johnnycajxrt tell your employer to pay u higher wage. why is it our fault. what other job work that way. well i have to tip that construction guy because they pay him under minimum wage
-
@eman0716 how is he wrong? he made valid points
-
i'm a pizza delivery driver and i get very annoyed when people don't tip. I, like most waiters/waitresses get paid BELOW minimum wage because we are expected to make up the difference in tips. I completely agree with Colin on this, bartenders pour beer and mix up a few drinks, that does not deserve 20%. Waiters deserve the 20% tip.

@eman0716 get a real job then

@eman0716 If you're at a bar for 4 hours in a seat, you have problems.

I believe that there would not be anyone thinking that someone who does not want to add 20% to their restaurant bill is cheap if they had to tip everyone that provided a service to them. Would your opinion be different if you had to pay 20% more for gas, groceries, medical care, movie tickets, fast food, parking, etc, etc,. I worked care homes for over twenty years and spent 8 hours a day on my feet waiting on elderly hand and foot and wiping their ass and giving them baths & no one tipped me.

Hell, the guy handing me a burger at McDonalds does more work than someone opening a bottle of beer. Why should I hand one guy a few bucks and the other guy nothing?
I think a tip should be for excellent service, not just something you feel obligated to do.
People who dont beleive in tipping are one of two things...
1. cheap
2. Has NEVER bartended
What people dont get is that your taking a SEAT. If you sit there for 4 hours and run a bill of 100 bucks and want to only tip 10 bucks? You are taking a seat for 4 hours that someone else could be sitting. I usually agree with Colin, but he is DEAD WRONG on this....

@eman0716 doesn't really apply to a bartender who's serving hundreds of people in a night most of which only take up a few minutes of time and the only space they're taking up are the edge of the bar for which they're waiting for service.
