In terms of technicality, there are TONS of better guitarists out there. Bumblefoot being one of them.

I guess in this age (2001 and 2002) Axl was testing another kind of voice, a clean voice. In this song you can see his improvisation above the song, he doesn´t used to do it before. That´s my opinion, I don´t believe that he unlearned how to sing or he couldn´t sing like before, cuz in 2006 we saw his great voice just like in 80´s n 90´s. I guess it was just a test, in some songs was nice, but in 2002 many people missed the drive on his voice (including me). tks
