  • Hey, I have a question.

I'm 17, 18 in like a month and obviously still live with my mom and dad (going into 12th grade).

I have had my period since I was 11 so almost 7 years and still use disposables. I've wanted for awhile to start using reuseables, but my mother (who is totally...un-natural for lack of a better word) refuses to let me. I mean I have fabric that would work (hemp) and I can make my own, I know how to sew, but she refuses to. ANy ideas on convincing her??

  • @castlesuzie

Hi there! No offence, but why does your Mom have any say in what menstrual products you use? That totally isn't her business, unless she has a really good reason why you should use disposables/shouldn't use reusables. Did she give you any reasons why she thinks it's a problem? Or does she just think it's icky or whatever? I'm super jealous you know how to sew and have hemp fabric!! That is totally the best way to go about it, I'd go for it and just not tell her....

  • are you still working on your dreads?

  • @Ashley11021

Well, they've pretty much matured now and there's not much I can do! But yeah, I hope they'll get better and better

  • ahww , I love your videos, And I love the fact that you don't use any make-up, ahahah, you still look good! :D

  • @nyachankawaii

Oh I do use make up! Just not a lot :) thanks!!

  • Hi Avaadore! This video couldn't have come at a better time!

Anyways I'm 16 and STILL haven't had my period yet! One of my sisters got it a week after she turned thirteen and the other one right before she was thirteen!

I'm really concerned that I haven't had mine yet and kinda terrified :( Does it take longer because Im a boy?

  • I only use pads, I find that tampons are invasive and uncomfortable.

This seems like a great option for people who suffer from TSS.

The paper/plastic like pads are just awful too, I would love to have a few of these.

I'm very glad that you're helping get the word out, I'm really excitied to save my pennies and purchase some. :)

  • @jocelynkaulitz you can just fold it up and keep them in a little case in your purse till you get home

  • @castlesuzie maybe you just need to explain it to her a little better, when I first switched my mother was apauled by the idea and then we just had a nice calm chat and i explained everything the cost, heath, environment she bought one pad just to see what it was like and wound up switching too

  • Ur too cute!!! Ur accent isnt as strong at all!! I will be lioking into these things. Im all for a TRUE " period" specific panty......heckyeah!!

  • You should try Tree Hugger Mama Cloth pads. She uses a fabric called Minkee or Minky that doesn't stain.

  • Where did you get your pretty backdrop at? Is it silk?

  • Thank you for making this video!!! I just recently learned about reusable pads and am very excited to make the switch. SCREW DISPOSABLE PADS, THEY PUT CHEMICALS IN YOUR BODY.
