When I import a song or audio clip, it shows up as a couple very short spikes. (like 1.50 seconds long) When it's played, it sounds like a short collection of screeches. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong, I drag an MP3 file into the Audacity window or use import audio under Project. Some help would be greatly appreciated. (Using Windows Vista Ultimate)

Hmm... You havn't had any virus problems or something from this? I may get it.
Is it free too?

It's free and I haven't experienced any viruses or keyloggers from it.

Alright, and I've seen it on my school's computers so it shouldn't be *that* dangerous.
One final question. Is it possible to remove certin things from songs on this? Like say I needed the instrumental bits of a song and not the vocals. Can that be done?

If it can be, I don't know about it. It'd be awesome if you could though

Turning down the volume really helps a lot. Then before you export it, you can change the output volume to make it the way you want.

It's the output bar that's the most important. Is it that bar that you can't use?
