Shaykh Salih Aal ash-Shaykh - Where Is The Dung From The Camel Oh Ikhwaan ul Muslimeen?

Shaykh Salih bin `Abdul-`Aziz Aal ash-Shaykh, the head of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Islamic Affairs is asked why he declares Yoosuf al-Qardaawee, 'Umar at-Tilmisaanee and Muhammad al-Ghazaalee innovators, opposes them, backbites them and refrains from mentioning their good qualities, but he does not criticize the likes of al-Haafidh Ibn Hajr (d.852H) and Imaam an-Nawawee (d.676H), even though they had errors.

Imam Nawawi and Ibn Hajr were scholars of Ahlus Sunnah, may Allah have mercy on them. But the issue I am having with someone is that bcz these Imams were fromm Ahlus Sunnah, he now thinks the Ash'ariyyah are from Ahlus Sunnah. And he says we make excuses for all the Asharee scholars due to their ijtihad just as we make excuses for these great scholars. How do I respond to this.

Walaikum Salam wa rahmatullah. Akh, they are scholars from alhus sunnah but they had some errors with taweel. The asharees use this, i.e. alhus sunnah saying taweel is a bidah by saying the asharees are from alhus sunnah bcz nobody will say Imam Nawawi & Ibn Hajr are not from Alhus Sunnah and we believe as they belived concerning some of the attributes of Allah. How is someone supposed to respond to this?

in very few points the imaam agreed with the asheera but in most points the imaams were upon the madhab of the salaf. + the ulamaah of the salaf used to say that if a shaykh has the right manhaj but due to lack of knowledge etc make a mistake then he is still from the salafi ulamaa but if the person with the wrong manhaj comes to the right aqeedah he is still an mubtadee becuse his manhaj.

if we read the books of the 2 imaams we find them to be upon the salafi aqeedah and manhaj. andf they refute the asharee aqeedah and manhaj.

for example: imaam ibn haja said that the book by imaam abul hasan (al ibaana) was the last book of al-Asharee upon which (aqeedah) he died...which is a book upon the salafi aqeedah.

+ they left books upon book upon the salafi aqeedah and manhaj  which we used as proof against the ashrees etc..

Wow, now they are like begging "please oh please mention our imam's good qualities." Insha Allah the questioner sees his error. May Allah protect our true scholars who keep silencing the hounding dogs.

@ saifuldeen he wasnt warning against the students of shaykh rabee as a matter of fact he has said that shaykh rabee is a mountain of knowledge and they are in good status with each other
