144 at the end looked it like was having a rump with the track! Wonder how the passengers fared on that with been thrown around so much haha.

@HORNEBEEDUBLO I was just kidding! ;)

@1adamstephen I feel the same about the Class 150/1 'furnaces'!

@mackat4ck The Pacers were initially powered by Leyland TL11 engines. This was an updated and turbocharged O.680, but didn't share it's reliability. In particular it didn't like long periods of idling. The O.680 powered many classes of first generation DMUs including 101s, 104s and 108s. It would still start up after not running for years as shown by this video:- wwwDOTyoutubeDOTcom/watch?v=Lf
qfNkB36RI . DAF even made O.680s under license for years and their own 1160s were developed from it. -
@coveneyr Only the body is derived from a bus. The two axle underframe was built by BREL (Derby) from research gained from the APT.

@duffman82 Not before 2019.

@FirstGreatWestern43 I wouldnt bother.....all the disadvantages of a Leyland Bus using crappy rail infrastructure..oh and the suspension isnt very good and the seats are horrid.....well thats how i remember them travelling on them 20 years back.
I mean just look at them....a bus chassis on a track..............ewwww......
.....sexy -
"Class 141 and and 142 were powered by Leyland engines." In other words, they were shit!
