In groundbreaking series legendary footballer Ian Wright sets up a Football Academy in one of the country's most notorious Young Offenders Institutions, Portland YOI in Dorset

He had just 3 months to transform the lives and aspirations of some of Britain's toughest young criminals in order to try and reverse the shocking national rate of reoffending. With 78% of Young Offenders committing another offense within two years, Ian's mission was to transform their lives by teaching them skills like discipline, hard work and a desire to do better that he learned as a young footballer after serving a short sentence inside himself.

Popkorn's incredible series attracted attention from all over the country. Then Justice Minister Jack Straw become personally involved in the project and appeared in the final episode. Popkorn are proud to have sourced funding to run the project at Portland for a further 3 years after the cameras stopped rolling and plans to run similar projects nationwide are now being looked at.
