ug99 Wheat rust is a serious problem and one which is affecting wheat in Asia. This is underreported in the mainstream media. This will affect global food supplies and be a cause of major concern before too long, mark my words. Rule of law prevails as Supreme Court rules that detainees at Guantanamo can appeal their detention in US courts, a huge blow to the President. Ron Paul suspends his campaign for real and for good. Thank you Ron Paul for running, but it is a sad day for Liberty.

Quick question. If wheat supplies in Asia tank, and our output remains high, won't that help the trade deficit? (Not trying to downplay the human misery this situation might create.)

Theoretically you'd be right BUT look at our grain reserves. They're not too hot now and with so much land being used for corn for Ethanol other grains less represented. The answer is that it would be true IF we have any grain to spare.

Monsanto has wrecked the food supply with genetically altered food sources which they own patents on,...

Only Round up ready products(monsanto) can grow on roundup sprayed fields,

Farmers will realize they can only make it by contributing sections of their land to ethanol production....

now the food supply gets even smaller and once the approved ethanol crops are in the fields, food will have the impossible task of growing there...

Growing your own is a great idea if you have the land. It is also a good idea to stock up on some food as well.

Here is the dirt as I have come to understand....please bear with me...

Problem 1- The price of gas is artificially held high...the price is not held there by supply and demand as the market will show you....

Problem 2- the Global Warming police headed by the Elite, are prompting us to find alternative sources of fuel....

Reaction 1- We are all upset and demand lower prices or alternatives....

Solution 1- farmers and food growers who nourish us, will be offered incentives to grow ethanol...

Grow your own food is right... be sure to use organic, get grow lights if you must grow it indoors, harvest your seeds and store using both the canning and dehydrating method for diversity.

So, if we could get a handle on energy CONSERVATION thus reducing our dependence on foreign oil without turning our wheat fields into corn fields for ethanol, we could put our agricultural prowess (and luck in not having UG99) to work for our benefit?
