philadelphia | hiv/aids discrimination (are you aware?)

Watching in HD is absolutely necessary... This movie came out in 1993, so the quality isn't super... Also I used some intense colouring that kind of makes it a little more difficult to see.

So, this is my entry for the "Are You Aware" contest... I meant to make a video on HIV/AIDS discrimination, but it kind of turned into a more generally HIV/AIDS awareness type video with a brief discussion of homophobia and discrimination... Idk. Anywway, I had been trying to come up with a suitable cause to vid for this contest, and I came across this movie. I was so moved by the performances of Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington, I decided that this was definitely a cause worth making known to others....

Beyond that, HIV/AIDS has affected my life. Not directly, but had a relative who lived with HIV/AIDS. So that was even more of a reason for me to make this video.

If you haven't seen this movie, go watch it! I definitely did not do it justice with this video. Such a powerful film...

Also, all of the text overlays I used came from a website called avert.org which has a lot of information about HIV/AIDS throughout the world, as well as discrimination against those with the virus...

@MachineryOfNight i should have said a one reason I don't shake hands. Shaking hands is a filthy custom. They say minimal chance get aids that way.well not shaking is 100% certainty

This is so amazing. Love the use of philadelphia to illustrate the problem, love the topic you chose. So many people are still misinformed about HIV and AIDS, and it's so important for them to become educated about it.
