Terence Kemp McKenna was a writer, philosopher, psychonaut and ethnobotanist. He was noted for his many speculations on the use of psychedelic, plant-based entheogens, and subjects ranging from shamanism, the development of human consciousness, and novelty theory.

Dr. Richard Alpert, also known as Baba Ram Dass, is a contemporary spiritual teacher. He is well known for his association with Timothy Leary at Harvard University in the early 1960s, both having been dismissed from their professorships for experiments on the effects of psychedelic drugs on human subjects. He is also known for his travels to India and his association with the Hindu guru Neem Karoli Baba.

what i find impressive about these two,and about a lot of counter-cultural types,is their openness. there seems to be a constant,conscious attempt to suppress the nagging ego. not something you find in all men of ideas.

What a cool video . I think Terence is a normal guy who happens to articulate experiences well . They are both very interesting , but their ideas are more interesting than their personalities by far . There are so few people that we can have conversations like this with in our lives .

I believe the waiter might be Roberto Benigni? Maybe? Terrance came off as inadequate here because of the different school of thought although Ram Dass is right up the same alley. Terrance was pushing his agenda here but he was taking the long road in. Ram Dass is a yogi which is more a school of practice other than theoretical or logic. From that his experiences have been other worldly. Terrence and his experience at La Chorrera can be considered the same too... same same.
