that's great to see all 5. i wonder how many they'll have eventually. from wikipedia: The Sausage Race is race of sausage mascots held at every home game of Milwaukee Brewers. It is promotion for Klement's Sausage Company, whose sausages are served at Miller Park. race started in early 1990s with 3 sausages - bratwurst, Polish sausage (kielbasa), and Italian sausage. Since then, 2 new sausages have joined - hot dog, introduced in mid-90s, and chorizo, which joined race in mid-2000s.

Italian is always winning and setting the records these days. Polish used to be number 1, and before him Bratwurst has had a couple good runs. Hot Dog has always sucked and Chorizo is the dark horse/new guy.

but the 10 foot sausage I was carrying on my shoulders threw off my
balance and I went tumbling. As I hit the ground, I heard the
collective moan of the crowd and lay there on my back for a few
moments in pure devastation. The Polish took the victory.

I
started on the inside and got out of the gate fast and immediately
went into a full sprint. I felt really good making the turn around
home plate and knew at that point that I was in the lead. With about a
quarter of the race remaining, my legs started to get a little wobbly,
