  • The more you give from your heart the more you get.You don't need money to give. Showing kindness to others is also giving. You must give without expecting anything in return the happiness that you experience within yourself cannot be explained.

  • Whoa- a female buddhist monk. A monkette? Either way, cool. Thank you for sharing.

  • @Ashitanoyuki Actually, getting rid of desires is the wrong way to practice because that itself is another desire.(wanting not to be)

  • It's impossible to get rid of all desires. People want to eat and sleep and move .... If you want to get rid of something that is essential, then you are doing it wrong. Remember that the suffering comes from attaching to things that seem to be important. Buddhism is not a path to reach heaven. It's a path to lead to your true self, which is imperfect and non attaching.

  • Thank you for sharing. It's nice to be able to hear Dhamma talks from Bhikkhunis.

  • @TheShaneLockwood I know the 500 years, but they did write the Jesus words years after he died, and did'nt put the bible together until about 300 after his passing. Plus they don't even put reincarnation in there. If Jesus went to Tibet and studied the vedic traditions, he could be at the heart of all religions. The truth is the way of life, same with Buddha. If we use reincarnation, what if one soul reincarnated as all the religious leaders? Its all good.

  • @caessarion Only they are 500 years apart. The bodhi tree still exists. But you have a point. The point in Buddhism isn't really the stories, but rather how to live.

  • the bodi tree story sounds as real as the nativity story. We know for fact thats fake. What if the guy who left Rome and went to India,Tibet, got enlghtened, and then went back to Egypt/Rome/Jeruselem, changed his name to yesue, was both Jesus and Buddha? They really seem like the same dude. Namaste
