Carlos Alberto Martínez, nome de batismo de Carlos Alberto Tévez, também conhecido como Carlitos Tévez (Ciudadela, 5 de fevereiro de 1984), é um futebolista argentino que atua como atacante. Atualmente, joga pelo Manchester City.
Foi batizado com o sobrenome de sua mãe, uma vez que apenas anos depois obteve judicialmente o reconhecimento do pai, passando a poder usar "Tévez", sobrenome deste.[1]
Tévez é reconhecido como um dos mais talentosos jogadores surgidos na Argentina no início do século XXI. É caracterizado por sua habilidade e pela raça que costuma entregar em campo pelos times em que atua. Foi o líder da Seleção Argentina que faturou pela primeira vez a medalha de ouro olímpica, nos Jogos de 2004. Em clubes, destacou-se não só em seu país-natal pelo Boca Juniors, mas também nos rivais Brasil (Corinthians) e Inglaterra (West Ham United, Manchester United e sua atual equipe, o Manchester City).
Carlos Alberto Tévez (born Carlos Alberto Martínez on 5 February 1984)is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a forward for English club Manchester City. He has previously played for Boca Juniors, Corinthians, West Ham United and Manchester United. He transferred to Manchester City in the 2009--10 summer transfer window, becoming the first player to move between the two Manchester clubs since 1999.
His career has been dogged by a long-standing affair with Media Sports Investments, the company who owned the rights of Tévez,and several other players and coaches.This eventually resulted in West Ham United being fined over issues regarding third-party ownership.
He has made over 50 appearances for the Argentina national team, scoring 11 goals.He was described by Diego Maradona as the "Argentine prophet for the 21st century".
