MiDi-to is a wireless iPad midi controller for Serato Scratch Live. It is the first app that does not need any additional software to work.

The purpose of our app is to minimize interaction with the computer. In this demo the DJ does not touch the computer at any moment. All control is done through the turntables, mixer and iPad.

Now available on the App Store.

In this video you can see version 1.0 of MiDi-to.
We recently released 1.0.1 with added loop roll function.

  • awesome!

  • @pierbover I believe since the distance between the macbook and iPad is not very big it should work fine, but of course if we could have the cable option as well it would be great.

    Thanks for the info!

  • Yes... The problem are interferences and the low wi fi signal of the ipad. Maybe if you had a very strong wi fi router such as the airport extreme... But as I said before, the best solution would be to send the data via cable.

  • @pierbover Even if it is a direct and password protected wifi connection?

  • @freskiesgates Yeah, at home it works... but try it on a club with possibly hundreds of mobile phones and god knows how many smart hpones looking for a wi fi network. too many interferences for the poor ipad. I saw Nortec last year trying to do a live show with their ipads and failling because of that. The best solution would be to do it via cable.

  • @pierbover In our tests the direct wi-fi connection between iPad and mac had 3ms latency max. so it was quite good for performance!

  • Nice! It's a shame Apple won't let do network tethering via the USB cable. Wifi is not the most robust protocol...
