@71crm That is indeed right. The look and concept of this production took its tone from the popular jazz musical 'The Wiz' and the designs were heavily based on the original illustrations from the Baum books.

I read somewhere that the costumes for the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion in this version of The Wizard of Oz actually look a lot like the costumes for The Wiz....the Tin Man looks like he's made out of junk and the Lion waers a coat and pants....is that right?

I would give my life up to play Fiyero the Scarecrow. I have dreamed of that role my whole life. I want that part as much as Ray Bolger wanted it.

This is the 1988 production of The Wizard of Oz by the Royal Shakespeare Company. It is professional.

Is this from the actual RSC version from 1989, or are people just miming along to the cast recording? Either way, please please please please please please post more. This production is amazing.

This is the actual RSC version - filmed in Stratford in 1989.
